Over the past few years, the Instituto Terra has won the support and recognition of institutions and governments for the work that has been developing for the regeneration and conservation of the Atlantic Forest region of the Middle Doce River, as well as the sustainable development of communities involved through environmental education. 2008
- 13th edition of the Ford Motor Company Award for Environmental Conservation, awarded by Ford and Conservation International, in the category of Science and Training of Human Resources, the project of the “Advanced Center for Environmental Rehabilitation and Sustainable Rural Development”.
- 7th edition of the Furnas Blue Gold Award, with the second place in the Community category, with the water monitoring study at the RPPN Bulcão Farm, which showed that the restoration of vegetation coverage allowed the recovery of the amount and quality of the water streams at the farm..
2007
- Degree of Order of Legislature Merit of the State of Minas Gerais, granted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Minas Gerais.
- Title of Collaborator Benefactor, given by the Military Police of Minas Gerais, for the relevant services to the Corporation.
2006
- 4th Furnas Prize - Blue Gold, with the 3rd place in the Community category, the "Project for Education and Rehabilitation of the Atlantic Forest in the Doce River Valley".
